Dr. Teresa Garera Izquierdo is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in Kentucky and Ohio since 2003. She is the Managing Partner and Clinical Director of FFPA. Dr. Izquierdo completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in 1997 and subsequently obtained her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in 2002 from Xavier University. Dr. Izquierdo has worked in the field of mental health for more than 3 decades providing services in private practice settings as well as within the community through contracts with various schools/community agencies in the tri-state area, collaborative work with local attorneys and court professionals, and consultation with various physicians and other professionals throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. In the past, Dr. Izquierdo has also worked in a variety of other clinical and forensic settings, both inpatient and outpatient, throughout Greater Cincinnati. She has expertise and training covering a broad range of clinical and presenting concerns as well as experience working with clients of various age groups and backgrounds. In addition to providing individual and family therapy services in the private practice, she often completes extensive comprehensive psychological evaluations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, Anxiety, OCD, Mood Disorders, Behavior Disorders, Eating Disorders/Body Image concerns, and assessment of trauma/abuse as well as issues related to family divorce/separation and reunification. Dr. Izquierdo often receives referrals from local physicians, schools, legal professionals, and former clients who often recommend her services to others. Dr. Izquierdo approaches each of her clients from a individualistic perspective, spending extensive time to get to know each of her clients while gathering a comprehensive developmental, medical, academic, family, and social history while planning for one’s unique assessment and therapeutic needs guiding this process in a thorough and holistic manner. Dr. Izquierdo’s extensive clinical and diagnostic experiences with a diverse population of clients has broadened her knowledge and expertise leading her to often be recommended for comprehensive psychological/neuropsychological evaluations, individual and family therapy, legal case consultation, and court appointed therapy and evaluations in addition to consultation services with local schools, physician offices, and agencies in the community.
